Privacy Policy

Fishy is a social platform for aquarium enthusiasts in Belgium and the Netherlands. Through Fishy, you can share posts, buy/sell fish and plants, and manage your aquarium.

Data controller: Fishy (rvdvenne's projects).

We process the following personal data:

• Username and password (encrypted)
• Email address (optional)
• City and country
• Profile picture and banner photo
• Messages and conversations
• Posted listings and posts
• Reviews you receive or give

We process your data to:

• Manage your account and allow you to log in
• Enable the platform's features (posts, chat, marketplace)
• Show local listings based on your city
• Ensure the security and integrity of the platform

Legal basis: performance of a contract (use of the platform) and legitimate interest.

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data will be permanently erased from our database.

We never sell your data to third parties. We may use the following services:

• Supabase – database storage (EU)
• Vercel – hosting (EU)
• Nominatim / OpenStreetMap – geocoding for cities (no personal data)

As an EU resident, you have the following rights:

• Right of access – you can see what data we hold
• Right to rectification – you can update your data via your profile
• Right to erasure – you can permanently delete your account and all data
• Right to object – you can object to the processing

To exercise your rights, delete your account via Settings → Delete Account, or contact us.

Fishy does not use third-party tracking cookies. We use localStorage in your browser to keep your session active. This does not require cookie consent under the GDPR.

Fishy is only accessible to individuals aged 16 or older, or minors with permission from a parent or guardian (in accordance with Article 8 of the GDPR).
